How To Make Money Online With Affiliate Marketing
In my opinion, the easiest way to make money online is with affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing basically is selling someone else’s product or service and then they pay you a commission on that sale.
Some of the advantages of affiliate marketing are: You don’t have to create the product, you don’t have to stock or ship the product, you don’t have to collect payment for the product and you don’t have to deal with customer complaints or returns.
Your job is to market the product.
Affiliate marketing can be broken down several ways.
It can be broken down by what type of product you are selling.
You can promote digital products. The term “digital products” usually refers to information products offered online via the internet in a digital format such as software, e-books, videos, courses, website templates, graphics or pictures.
You can market physical products. “Physical products” are items that can be touched or held, such as: clothes, books, furniture, and other physical goods that would be sold and shipped to customers.
You can promote a service product for an individual or company. A “service” could be for a doctor or dentist, an accountant, a landscaping company, or a consulting company.
It can also be broken down by from where you obtain the product.
The “product” could be promoted from network affiliates, companies such as: Clickbank, Commission Junction or Shareasale.
These companies offer a varied selection of products to promote. Some of the categories are Business, Food, and Health and Fitness. They will pay you a commission to promote their products.

The “product” could be promoted from businesses or companies that have affiliate programs, such as: Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot or Best Buy.
These companies are willing to share a portion of their profits with you to promote their products. If you look at the bottom of the website of most of the major stores you will notice they have a link to their affiliate page.
In this article, as an example, I will use the method, of promoting a product that is sold by a company that has an affiliate program.
Amazon is a company that many affiliate marketers like to start with. They are a large company that almost everyone is familiar with. They have many products and have a good affiliate program.
If you have a personal website or blog with a following, this is an easy transition to affiliate marketing. It is also possible to promote products if you do not have a website, however, I believe it would be best for you to have a webpage or create one.
Try to pick products to promote that have something to do with the theme of your webpage. For instance, if your webpage is about gardening, you could promote items like rakes, hoes, and other “gardening” related products. Promote things thing that your readers would be interested in.

If you already have a website or after you get your hosting service and your domain and you’ve installed WordPress and you have created your website, you can then sign up for Amazon’s Affiliate Program.
Go the Amazon website and at he bottom of the page, there is a heading called “Make Money with Us”. In that list click on the link that says “Become an Affiliate”. Follow that link and sign up as an affiliate to sell Amazon’s products.
Amazon will give you a special referral link to the products that they sell to place on your website. For example, if you’re doing a book review on your blog, you can use the picture of the book as your link to the Amazon book. You can use words, pictures, or words with pictures as links to the product.
If someone comes to your blog and clicks on one of your links you will get a commission for the product sold. One nice thing about Amazon is that if a visitor to your site clicks on one of your links and they buy other products, you will get a commission for the total eligible amount, even if they don’t buy the item that referred them to Amazon in the first place. The down side is that the visitor has to complete the sale within 24 hours of the click from your website
The commission varies from product to product and ranges from 0% to 10%. If you’re promoting products with a high price and/or high rate of commission, that can add up to some serious cash each month .
Most of the “Big Box” stores and other major stores have affiliate programs for selling their physical products. All you have to do is google “affiliate program” and the store you’re interested in and follow the instructions for that store.
Promoting “digital” products, usually done through affiliate networks, such as Clickbank or Shareasale, are often very lucrative. Because digital products don’t have to be “warehoused” or physically shipped and once created can be sold over and over again, the commissions are normally higher. Commissions are sometimes 50% or more. I’ll be writing an article soon on that type of affiliate marketing.
